A US manufacturer of truck-mounted boom cranes and lifts recently trialed PowerBall® Replacement Welding Consumables on their existing MIG guns that often experienced a short contact tip life. Welders in the facility were increasingly frustrated by the excess downtime due to frequent consumable change-outs. After converting the diffusers and contact tips to the PowerBall® design, consumable life was double that of the OEM consumables on their existing MIG guns.

After a successful trial of the replacement consumables, they are now in the process of converting to PowerBall® MIG Welding Guns due to the increased consumable life, welding performance, durability and operator comfort.

Want to speed up cleaning of your dirty welding fixtures or automation equipment? Quickly blast away grease, slag and other contaminants with a dry ice blaster. Dry ice blasting is an environmentally friendly cleaning process that has a number of advantages over traditional industrial cleaning methods. Here are just a few:

Reduced Downtime for Maintenance
Dry ice blasting is a fast cleaning method that significantly reduces equipment downtime. Dry ice blasting can be performed in place, without the need for equipment disassembly, allowing for quick and efficient cleaning.

Non-abrasive Cleaning for Sensitive Components
Utilizing dry ice pellets, which are non-abrasive (when used with a fragmenter) and non-conductive, dry ice blasting is ideal for cleaning automation equipment. Check out this video of a circuit board cleaned using dry ice blasting.
Non-toxic and Eco-friendly
Dry ice is made of solid CO2 and leaves no chemical residues behind. It is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for hazardous chemicals or solvents, reducing waste and minimizing the risk of contamination.
Improved Quality and Productivity
Dry ice blasting helps maintain optimal performance and efficiency by keeping weld cells clean. Clean equipment leads to better welding consistency, reduced downtime and more reliable operation of robotic equipment.
The Nu-Ice line of COMMANDO® Dry Ice Blasting Machines is available from Wire Wizard Welding Products. Contact your Wire Wizard® Technical Sales Expert or customer support for details and pricing information.

Word from the Wizard - March

A mining equipment manufacturer utilizing a large robotic tower system on a linear track recently reached out to the Wire Wizard Team to optimize their wire delivery setup. The system had a drum of bulk wire located on a platform attached to the tower, which made wire changeout difficult and unsafe for team members responsible for running the wire. The Wire Wizard Engineering Team worked with the facility to develop a solution to move the drum to a safer and more accessible location, as well as reduce friction on the wire through a long run to the feeder (approx. 100 ft). Wire Guide Modules and Extra Flexible Conduit were utilized to relocate the drum from the tower platform to the flo
